Path on the river natisone
The route starts from the Longobard Temple, inside which you can admire the spectacular gorge of the Natisone in the section on the left bank of the river. Passing through Porta Patriarchal take Via Monastero Maggiore, flanked by high walls, very well integrated with the landscape since built with river stones. It then goes to the bank of Callisto's Well, where it meets a well, located directly behind the apse of the cathedral, fishing in the underlying water table. Continuing on, you find yourself in Piazza del Duomo. From here, take via Paulinus of Aquileia, you get to Devil's Bridge, on which is worth stopping to admire the ravine below the Natisone again. Immediately after crossing the bridge, the height of the church of San Martino, you turn left, at the Belvedere sign and take the path that leads to the viewpoint. From here you can admire the houses of the old town on the river, the city walls and the silhouette of the cathedral that stand in front of the point of osservazione.Sui walls that are seen in correspondence with this path kicking Micromeria thymifolia, species whose leaves they have a nice smell a bit 'a little' mint thyme, whose presence in this area is rather special, since it is characteristic of Istria and located in Cividale and Gemona its scope of most western expansion. Noteworthy are in this path of conglomerate rocks, even of considerable size, which may be found near the river. The journey can move through a track of the path that tends to change as a result of floods of the river, but that it always runs along from very close, to the point where the channel widens, also as a result of fitting operations of ' river channel.
